ABOUT
I’m a Producer/Director with over 20 years’ experience creating broadcast, documentary, factual, digital and live content, now based in Sydney having relocated from Liverpool to Australia in August 2026.
My career has taken me from major international broadcasts and complex live productions to documentaries and intimate interview-led features - working with leading broadcasters, production companies and organisations in the UK and internationally. I work across the full production process, from developing ideas through to interviewing, directing, shooting, edit producing and final delivery.
I’m now looking to bring that experience to new projects in Australia across factual, documentary, branded, cultural, public-sector and sports content - wherever there are important stories to tell and audiences to connect with.
HUMAN STORIES
Some of the work I’m proudest of has been built around people rather than events: earning trust, asking the right questions and creating the environment in which contributors can tell their stories properly.
I’ve produced and directed documentaries, short-form features, archive-led pieces and interview-driven items, often working with contributors sharing deeply personal experiences for the first time and handling sensitive subjects and complex relationships.
For almost a decade at Liverpool FC, for example, I provided creative leadership across the club’s video and digital storytelling around Hillsborough, working closely with bereaved families, survivors, senior club leadership and communications teams to help shape documentaries, live memorial broadcasts and emotive online content through one of the most significant periods in the club’s history, including the historic second Hillsborough Inquests of 2014-16.
MAJOR PRODUCTIONS
I’m equally comfortable operating at scale within major international productions. Over my career I’ve worked across some of the world's biggest broadcast productions including men’s and women’s FIFA World Cups, UEFA Champions League, Premier League, European Championships, Olympic Games and Winter Paralympics.
Those environments demand much more than knowledge of sport. They require editorial judgement, collaboration, organisation and the ability to make good decisions inside large, complex productions where deadlines are immovable and audiences can number in the millions.
Whether embedded with contributors, producing for broadcasters, working within host-broadcast operations or creating material on location, I’m used to combining creative storytelling with the practical demands of major productions.
That experience has made me comfortable moving between very different scales of filmmaking — from a one-to-one interview in somebody’s home to an international broadcast operation involving hundreds of people.
LIVE/FAST TURNAROUND
A large part of my career has been spent making content where speed, accuracy and judgement matter.
I’ve produced live programmes, coordinated broadcast output, edit-produced against transmission deadlines and made editorial decisions while programmes are on air. That has taught me how to stay calm, prioritise quickly and maintain quality when there is very little room for error.
My live and fast-turnaround work has included gallery-producing Liverpool FC studio programmes, VT coordinating for flagship BBC productions including Match of the Day and Football Focus, and edit-producing material while programmes are transmitting.
I’ve also spent more than 15 years contributing to Match of the Day and have edited and edit-produced highlights and features for broadcasters including BBC Sport and DAZN.
Those skills transfer well beyond live sport: understanding what matters, identifying the story quickly, communicating clearly with a team and delivering polished work against a hard deadline.
